Remarks

• The SL-QD33R is also available with a connector for the Technics system remote control (jack 3.5 mm), which can be controlled by a Technics receiver or amplifier equipped for this purpose.
• The Technics SL-QD33 is a very elegant, solidly manufactured and very easy to operate unit. Because of the T4P cartridge, there is no need for the usual adjustments that are required for cartridges with SMD connection of a headshell. It is enough to set the contact weight (1.25 g) correctly.

Since the unit does not have a built-in preamplifier, you need an amplifier with its own phono input with RCA connector. If the amplifier has only a normal RCA input, you can connect a small phono preamplifier in between (such a thing is available from about 40 €). More expensive phono preamplifiers like the NAD PP3i even allow you to digitize your records via a USB connection to a PC.

• It is important that this record player is always connected to an amplifier or phono preamplifier with the ground cable, so that no hum is generated. The grounding cable was standard equipment on new units! If this cable is missing on a used unit, you can find a replacement on the internet (approx. 8 € to 10 €). On ebay you can get good used SL-QD33 for about 100 €. Qualitatively they are far superior to today's new devices in the price range 150 € to 200 €.
