Remarks

  • Initially I used the CR-1000 in parallel operation with very high quality pre/power amp combinations.

Within half a year 7 high quality integrated amplifiers "used prices 2000,-Euro upwards" wanted to push the CR-1000 off the podium. They were/are all more powerful, but this fine-drawing, excellent resolution of the Yamaha is unrivalled, and has meant that no amplifier has held its place on my hi-fi table for longer than this excellent receiver. Its phono input is also of an extremely high standard. By converting to banana jacks, when more power is needed, the speakers are plugged into the power amps and the Yamaha is used as an excellent preamp.

  • I now have three CR-1000s and am not giving one away.

There is no phono preamp or anything else that comes close to the Yamaha under 1000,-Euro.
