Although the receiver of the E 700 is almost the smallest in the test, in addition to amplifier and RDS tuner, a full-grown DVD player is in the compact device. The elegant Pianocraft is thus capable of playing DVDs in sound and picture, in addition to CDs (including discs with MP3 and WMA). Even if it's not true surround sound, music DVDs are simply more fun with the right picture on a TV. In addition to the Scart socket, a component output (with progressive full-screen output) is also available for connection to the television. In addition to the elegant design of the smart system, the solid build quality is also striking. The two loudspeakers have a high-gloss black finish reminiscent of piano lacquer. In fact, the name of the system says it all.

Zwar ist der Receiver der E 700 fast der kleinste im Test, doch in dem kompakten Gerät steckt neben Verstärker und RDS-Tuner ein ausgewachsener DVD-Player. Die elegante Pianocraft ist somit in der Lage, neben CDs (auch Disks mit MP3 und WMA) DVDs in Ton und Bild wiederzugeben. Auch wenn es sich dabei nicht um echten Surroundsound handelt, machen Musik-DVDs mit dem passenden Bild auf einem Fernseher einfach mehr Spaß. Zum Anschluss an den Fernseher steht neben Scartbuchse noch ein Komponentenausgang (mit Progressive Vollbildausgabe) zur Verfügung. Neben dem eleganten Design der schmucken Anlage fällt zudem die gediegene Verarbeitungsqualität auf. Die beiden Lautsprecher gefallen mit schwarzem Hochglanz-Finish, welches an Klavierlack erinnert. Hier ist tatsächlich der Name der Anlage Programm.

The small system delivers a considerable volume and rich bass for its size. The high frequency reproduction of the "Black Beauties" is particularly pleasing; voices and acoustic instruments are reproduced with a wide overtone spectrum and therefore sound fresh and natural. Dynamic brass sections are also "blasted" into the listening room in a relaxed manner. Only with live drum recordings the small system reaches its limits, for these extreme levels chassis size and amplifier power are not quite sufficient.

Die kleine Anlage liefert für ihre Größe eine beachtliche Lautstärke und satte Bässe. Besonders gefällt auch die Hochtonwiedergabe der „Black Beauties“, Stimmen und akustische Instrumente werden mit einem weiten Obertonspektrum reproduziert und klingen daher frisch und natürlich. Auch dynamische Bläsersätze werden locker-flockig in den Hörraum „geschmettert“. Erst bei live eingespielten Schlagzeugaufnahmen erreicht die kleine Anlage ihre Grenzen, für diese Extrempegel reichen Chassis- Größe und Verstärkerleistung doch nicht ganz aus.
