| − | In 1946, the predecessor company Kashio Seisakujo (樫尾製作所, German "Kashio-Werk") was founded in Tokyo by the four Kashio brothers. In order to operate internationally, the present Casio Computer Co., Ltd. was formed on June 1, 1957, and mass production of calculators began that same year. Starting in 1965, electronic desktop calculators with memory were produced. In 1974, Casio launched its first digital wristwatch, Casiotron, with ten additional functions. In 1984 Casio released its first synthesizer, the CZ-101, and in 1995 it began selling digital cameras. In 1996, the company presented its first PDA with Microsoft Windows CE under the name Casio Cassiopeia.
