Our big comparison test ends with a victory of the Yamaha RX-V1700 - he is clearly the "Michael Schumacher" among the affordable AV receivers. To the horror of the competition, however, it doesn't step up like the seven-time Formula 1 champion, but as a brand new device, it's just starting out. What makes the Yamaha so superior? On the one hand, it impresses with a high level of balance, but on the other, it can also set absolute highlights - which is why its success is so clear-cut. The 1700 wins both the audio and video ratings. In the particularly important audio evaluation, the seven-channel receiver strikes mercilessly and virtually outclasses the assembled competition, which is also due to the first-class DSP section. The elegant, dignified visual appearance and the best remote control as well as the best display in the test field also speak for the Yamaha. Therefore, our conclusion is: In our entire AV receiver master tests, we have never had a winner that crossed the finish line with such a large lead - taking into account the purchase price ratio. We can only congratulate it.
