Reports[edit]

  • Test in Stereoplay, September 1983
  • The metering computer is useless, because its results are rather diced than measured.
  • Out of 10 measurements of the same cassette there are 10 different results.
  • With this deck, Yamaha has saved Dolby C, which the small K-300 already has. However, dbx noise reduction is on board.
  • dbx is no good on cassette decks, though. There's pumping and noise plumes on impulses.
  • No tape deck of any brand does not have this flaw with dbx, including the K-2000.
