The SENATOR class stood at Universum for devices of the upper category.

Stereo-Logic-Cassette-Tape-Deck 2 Motor - 3 Head - Dual Capstan with High-Com

Direct Front Loading System, illuminated cassette window, integrated dust cap to be operated manually ; front connection for 2 microphones/Aux (DIN) , 1 stereo headphone (DIN) - volume adjustable.

Dual-Capstan Drive (2 tone shafts) ; dual tape tension - tape pressure rollers for advance and tape tension ; logic control and jog key operation (drive functions controlled by solenoid) ; electronically controlled servo motor for running function and additional winding motor (forward/reverse reels).

1 HARD-permalloy dual-tone head - separate for recording and playback in common housing ; 1 ferrite erase head in compact design.

4 High-Com Circuit - one circuit each separately for recording and playback as well as right and left channel ; S/N ratio 76 dB.

DNR noise reducer (Dynamic Noise Reductor) for playing cassettes recorded with other noise reduction systems.

4 tape types selectable via 2 toggle switches ; Fe²O³ (Ferrro-Oxide) IEC I - CrO² (Chromium Dioxide) IEC II - FeCr (Ferrochrome) IEC III - METAL (Pure Iron) IEC IV.

Quelle converted the CT-2307A from dual-capstan to single-capstan because many devices had problems with tape loops.

For this purpose, the left GA roller was removed by Quelle customer service.

The left rubber pressure roller is no longer present in the CT 2337 model ex works, i.e. the This means that the change has already been made ex works and not subsequently by Quelle customer service.

The mounting point or the mounting/holding pin of the left GA-pressure lever of the CT-2337 has been changed from a snap ring to a fastening by nut ex works as well as the belt pressure guide and fork as well as return spring changed !

Also the potentiometer board of the headphone amplifier of the CT2337 was changed.

Often forward and rewind problems are given - The cause is often a defective Idler... (A prov.Instandsetzung is possible by a hardware store O-ring)

The device was offered for 599/699 DM.

Known problems:

- Fast forward and rewind no longer work due to worn idler.

 Remedy: Remove the top-mounted motor, remove the snap ring of the Idler mechanism (pay attention to the spring!),
 remove the first Idler rubber and replace it with a rubber seal of the same size from the sanitary area.

- Synchronization problems with height fluctuations (mostly towards the end of the belt).

 Remedy: The cause is the winding mandrels which are broken in all devices and therefore no longer transmit the torque.
 Torque no longer transfer - Here help a few drops of power glue between winding mandrel and plate.

The drive is similar to the Telefunken RC-200 deck. However, the RC-200 is a single capstan drive without rear tape control. Many parts from this deck are identical in construction and can be cross-changed.
