• Elegantly it sets itself in scene, the black Uher player with smoked glass. It is also flat, the motor-driven drawer, which makes the CD gently disappear into its invisible interior, makes it possible.

• There are certainly no problems with insertion. This also applies to the operation, because although a lot is offered in this respect, the well thought-out display contributes to the fact that especially the programming of the individual music flow does not become confusing.

Well thought-out display and operation If, for example, you want to program the first of the 16 available memories, a "1" appears with an arrow flashing above it after pressing the corresponding buttons. You can now search for "your" piece of music or enter the title number directly, whereupon a "2" with a flashing arrow appears. The display also shows playing times (single, total and remaining times), various functions of the pressed shortstroke keys and the title number. The design of the luminous displays is very easy on the eyes, the green, slim digits are easy to recognize in any light, which is also due to the staggered arrangement. However, this has the disadvantage on the X-2 that you can't see the display of the "Auto Pause" function from an angle above.

• "Auto Pause" has nothing to do with an overheated radiator, rather the player goes into waiting position after finishing the current piece of music. The skip functions are also not missing and bring the Uher rich plus points, because the jump to the next or previous track takes on average only 1.4 s, an extremely short time. The fast forward and rewind was designed in two stages, which also allows listening.

• The device has a headphone jack with volume control, and the voltage is sufficient to realize even higher levels, which is rather the exception. Good is also the build quality; it imprints a very satisfactory image.

• Much less can be said about the measured values, i.e. the reproduction quality. The transmission characteristics are "only" top class, but this seems to be almost academic in this device class, the interference immunity, however, brought the Uher full marks, and that is not self-evident!

• All in all, a very pleasing device with good ease of use, solid manufacturing quality and technical features that - in a positive sense - are not worth mentioning.
