Better in case of wear immediately a larger engine "conjure up" - let! But: the mechanics is actually unfortunately not to help! You can see it in the gap dimension of the cassette compartment when it was NEW (Yamaha catalog)!
You can do what you want, who now buys a 670 / 690 used MUST have new Peesen (belts) after 20 or 25 years!!!HW
Still the best sound (room, bass, channel separation - world class - e.g. better than Revox, Akai etc.)! HW

The calibration time is about half of the Revox B215 Mk II, however, regarding the latter at least 3 years have passed. Developers will think of something . . . Analoghatwas
