Answer

The Wall is the center to the "sound pictures" from the late 1990s. Picture to come. Price unknown, ask Myro. There are still some in stock.

But as a stereo listener I have to ask: Center means for surround systems? Do you mean that also with "sound image"?

Yes, the wall speakers were designed as a multi-channel system: Center "The Wall" with 13s coaxial drivers, "Klangbilder" (stereo) with 18s coaxial drivers. There is still a pair of the Klangbilder available at Myro. The power requirements are not particularly high.

Asked because I knew the soundwalls from Thorens at least from the catalog.
See possibly here - just occurred to me to it:

http://www.thorens-info.de/html/thorens-lautsprecher.html - there one is far away from the point ideal (is that actually true?), isn't it? It was fancy, though.
Myro doesn't work in that direction, does it?

Answer

No, Myro designs only impulse directional loudspeakers. This is not a given with the above speakers for various reasons and is a different principle.

Comparison with Thorens Soundwalls

Considering that frequencies < 150 or 200 Hz are directional independent, Myro should be able to build such a wall, right? The total diameter of 62 cm (audio test see link, I didn't do the math) for the bass is quite impressive . . .

The subject is unfortunately too complex for a few short words. The arrangement of the drivers with their phase centers, the filters and the choice of drivers all play a role. Diaphragm area alone doesn't cut it, it's also about transient response, linear excursion and distortion. As I said, quite complex overall. This can be better explained in conversation, e.g. at one of the public listening appointments, announcements here:
