The unit was not available for 2000 DM in 1983 - I only remember the new price at FNAC Paris, because I lived in France at that time and a friend of my father owned this very exclusive unit in those days.

In France, the retail price was over 10,000 FF (+ 3300 DM) - in Germany, it will have been somewhat cheaper, but certainly more expensive than 2000 DM.
