Talk:Elac Platter

Hello! Since March of this year I have been using an Elac Miracord 625, year of manufacture 1973, as a second record player. At the beginning it worked fine, but after some time it started to after pressing the appropriate start button now and then does not set up correctly.

Soon after that, the tonearm started to touch down correctly after pressing the start button. correctly after pressing the start button. Most of the time it lifts off for a short time and then lowers itself again things on the plinth. Occasionally it unexpectedly whizzes over the record at the last moment. plate at the last moment, sometimes causing damage to plate and needle.

So at the moment, I have no choice but to put the platters on manually, since the automatic system hardly works anymore. In changer mode, it usually catches itself at some point and and sets up correctly again, but even there it happens that the tonearm once suddenly seems to scratch away uncontrolled over the record.

What could be done about this, or does anyone have any ideas? These problems did not occur in the first weeks.
