I suspect that the glass top layer on the sound heads has a bad influence (tape gap-head contact) during playback (foreign cassettes) or recording (hardly any compatibility when playing on foreign decks)! Soundwise no chance against Yamaha decks with Playtrim! Mechanics world class. HW
