- Headphone output is not adjustable (like TC-K615 S)
- Drive similar in construction to TC-K 615 S, using the TCM-190 mech. Compared to the 611 S from 1993 the equipment was "slimmed down"
- compared to the TC-K715 S built 1 year earlier ( had no successor) there is no quartz control and no sapphire reinforced drive shaft
- belts, tone heads, tone shaft (capstan) and pressure roller were the same on several Sony cassette decks (5xx and 6xx series) since 1993.
- Predecessor unit: Sony TC-K 615 S
- Successor unit: Sony TC-KE 600 S (QS)
- Other models of the same series:
Reports
- Stereo 11/1995: satisfactory, no star. "Plumply equipped, including Dolby S, but despite 3-motor drive synchronization problems." (Stereo Testspiegel 1995/96)
