Reviews[edit]

  • The 7 and 8 models of the ES series were always virtually the same amplifier with marginally better component placement on the 8 (and a dual power supply on 800ES).
  • Overall top class units on the level of a "smaller" Accuphase, but tonally tuned minimally softer.
  • The phono preamps are among the best I've heard with an OpAmp circuit.
  • However, the price level of used units is now at pure collector and enthusiast level. So certainly not a good price / quality ratio.
