Remarks[edit]

  • Many parts like the entire drive also has the "smaller" Sony MDS-JA 30 ES . Also applies to the display, pots, click switches. In principle, the entire front panel, as well as the control boards (drive starboard etc.) is identical to the Sony JA 30 ES. The construction of the Sony JA 50 to the Sony JA 30 ES is almost identical except for the separate power supply. You a few small things like in some places copper screws instead of metal screws. All control cables motor board connection cables are identical. The Sony JA50 ES is more materialistic built of the housing and other little things like foam between the buttons and LED...
  • Conversion measures Sony JA50ES and Sony JA30 ES:
    • The JA50 ES as well as the JA 30 ES, both can be converted excellently with newer OPA technology. For this the 8 operational amplifiers JRC2114D must be exchanged on the audio circuit board (DA>AD as well as record analog > digital) circuit board in each case, against TI OPA2604 of Burson and brown BB. Link: http://www.ti.com/product/OPA2604 (Attention the lower audio circuit board of the JA50 ES is not identical with those of the 30 series) At the Sony JA50 ES the OPA2604 as well as the OPA 2132AP are already installed from home. These chips should be replaced after 20 years but against new with the identical designation.... The result is phenomenal and hard to believe, sonically unrecognizable with an enormously high resolution and a super CLEAN and dynamic precise sound! TI (BB) seems to have revised the chips over the years. Alternatively, the OPA LM4562 NA (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm4562.pdf) can be installed very well, these chips have a higher dynamic range and noise less.

' Please only by expert technician exchange and above all immediately Sockeln let!

Service Manuel for the Sony JA50ES is available here: https://www.manualslib.com/s/sony+mds-ja30es.html (Same with the JA30 ES)

  • Likewise the processing and the all surpassing equipment with digital level control." (Citation Stereo Best List 1998) - Until it was replaced by the Sony MDS-JA 555 ES in 2000, it was the leader of the Stereo Best List.

Audio 6/1997: Top class, sound 85 points (analogue 85 p./ digital 85 p.), 5 ears. For a long time top of the best list and also the most expensive model.
