• Stereoplay 4/1998: Good (upper middle class), 19 points (some months later double count: 38 points)

• Sharp ATRAC technology was used in the sister model Kenwood DM-3090, among others. Generally, Kenwood and Denon, as well as Onkyo, sourced the technology from Sharp, not Sony. Sharp's ATRAC is somewhat different from that of inventor Sony, the numbers (ATRAC 4.5 etc. are not directly comparable.
• Only about half the space was used in the case. The power supply is simple, but shielded with metal.
