Reports[edit]
- Completely redesigned successor to the Revox Plenum B
- Aimed at well-heeled audiences with limited space but a desire for the sound of a "big one".
- You can't really call the Plenum B MK II small, but it is a good compromise: if the wife doesn't tolerate the big "ugly" boxes in your living room, she won't have many objections with the Revox.
Sound description: the WAF is quite high with these speakers.
- The Revox have a powerful and crisp bass and only miss something bigger in living rooms with "gymnasium dimensions"!
Tips for buying second hand: as a rule the Revox are firstly rare and secondly well maintained. Tweeter and midrange are unproblematic and last forever. The bass driver probably needs new surrounds if the previous owner hasn't already replaced them. For well maintained specimens with new surrounds about 500 € are paid at the moment (2011). If the beading is defective, you can deduct about 200 €.
The repair is easy to do with a little skill.
- You can get the right beads on Ebay and the glue is usually included.
- If not, Pattex or similar makes are well suitable
- Instructions for this are also available on Youtube
