Special Features
- Record selector switch
- Volume control with red LED
- Speaker pairs and headphones are switched via relays
- SR-Bus output for controlling other Pioneer hi-fi components via the amplifier's remote control
- Metal front panel
- TAPE 1/CD-R/MD and CD inputs are disconnected from the input selector chip by relay when not in use
- Power-on delay for PHONO input.
- Power switch
- 1x Euro socket (max. 100W)
- Surround back mode for surround receiver. Press DIRECT button for three seconds to activate this mode. The amplifier no longer responds to the remote control. The volume control LED will turn off. If you set the volume control to the centre position, the unit operates as a power amplifier, amplifying the signal applied to LINE/SB with a sensitivity of 1V.
Remarks[edit]
- Previous model:
- Pioneer A-407 R
- Successor model:
- Pioneer A-30
- The A-x09 series is an only slightly improved A-x07 series (stabilizers); basically the A-x09 units are the MkII versions of A-x07. The A-x07 units are the first series with the current Pioneer hifi design. Not all A-x07 amplifiers have been replaced by A-x09 versions. For example, the A-307R and A-607R are still manufactured and sold as such.
- The A-509R have been number upgraded.
The predecessors of the A-509R are A-405R and A-407R. With the A-407R came the new front panel design, the A-509R is distinguished from the A-407R by the surround back mode and the small improvements of the A-x09 series (stabilizers). The performance data remained the same. The A-505R and A-605R evolved into the A-607R, these three have a toroidal transformer.
- [Other models in the same series:
- Pioneer A-109
- Pioneer A-209 R
