Phonar P-40

The Phonar P40 is the original version of the P series. The models without the S or ii in the type designation are unshielded. The P40 can be recognized by the round, slightly smaller bass drivers.

The housing has a little less volume than that of the P40ii and is therefore also slightly smaller in size.

The P40 inspires with its temperament, which is never too much and is perfectly matched. Due to the "D'Appolito" arrangement with two midrange drivers, the P40 achieves an unbelievable three-dimensional imaging. Even at low volumes the sound character of the P40 is fully convincing and never becomes obtrusive. The carbon drivers react as fast as lightning and play with incredible timing.

In the Hifi test the P40 was the only floorstanding speaker to achieve a 5 star rating. Thus, it was the test winner in the category floorstanding speakers up to 6500€.
