  • The "R" in the name of the device stands for "RDS."
  • In the Design the equipment with the rounded and with plastic strengthened corners (in front) fits to cassette decks and CD players of these years, thereby also the width of 45,5cm exists.

Successor device: Onkyo TX-8211

  • The receiver has extra a stand by button.

Over the R1 system bus of Onkyo can be steered also CD player and cassette deck by remote control (3,5mm mono cable necessarily). Remote control: Onkyo RC-296S, others with the suffix "S" also possible.
