Remarks[edit]

Used transistors have their own company specific designations and so are only available from Cyrus! Other models of the same series:

There were different series of the Mission Cyrus II. They differ externally by different on/off switches. One series is equipped with toggle switches, the other with (red internally illuminated) pushbutton switches. The metal housing is matt lacquered, but there was a special series with glossy black lacquered metal housing.

The Mission Cyrus II came with an optional external power supply called "PSX". The actual amplifier has a powerful 200 W toroidal transformer, the external power supply has an even bigger 500 W toroidal transformer. The units have identical housings, the only external differences are the connections and the controls. If the Mission Cyrus II is operated with the PSX, two fuses inside the amplifier have to be removed. Then the two devices are connected by means of a proprietary plug, whose cable is firmly mounted on the PSX. The Mission Cyrus II gains a lot in sound by using the PSX. The internal toroidal transformer is only used for phono.
