Description[edit]

The naming indicates the origin of the company history. In 1989 Michael Weidlich founded his company "Schallreproduktionstechnik" in the old town of Celle. The CELLENSIS is also the last model developed at this location.
With the flat diaphragm chassis a concept can be realised that a pure bass chassis can be used in a two-way loudspeaker. The position of the flat diaphragm chassis is chosen in such a way that the distances to the adjacent cabinet edges have a favourable ratio. This contributes to the linearisation of the transmission behaviour. In addition, the cabinet edges are rounded, which reduces the edge diffraction of the sound and improves the dispersion characteristics.
Both chassis have sandwich diaphragms made of aluminium with a honeycomb structure between the layers. This ensures a piston-like movement without losses due to yielding diaphragm part surfaces and without energy storage effects due to voice coils dipping into the diaphragm (spring-mass effect). Due to the outward curved diaphragm of the woofer, as well as the huge voice coil in relation to the diaphragm diameter, the acoustic center is located far forward and thus allows a simultaneous radiation towards the listener.
