LM

Company profile[edit]

"LM", in a two-coloured pyramid logo, stands for "Lautsprecher Manufaktur" and was the former trademark of the Gesellschaft für elektroakustische Bauelemente mbH in Mannheim (see advertisement in HiFi Vision 9/89, p. 134), which had been founded in 1982 by Andreas Wieglepp and Thoren Fischer and had initially distributed components as well as self-developed loudspeaker kits. Soon own loudspeaker drivers and cabinets followed.

Around 1984 a cooperation with MB Quart started; LM developed and distributed MB loudspeaker kits. This led, in 1985, to a mutual participation between MB and LM.

In 1988 LM introduced the first pyramid boxes, "The Pyramid", which would make them famous and later find its way into the company's new logo. In 1989 another cabinet form followed: the hexagonal "Column", in 1990 the entry into Car HiFi and in 1999 into surround systems.

In 2000 LM conquered a new field of activity: loudspeaker repair, especially bead replacement.

Since 2006, the current location of Lautsprecher Manufaktur GmbH is Rheingoldstr. 4 in 68199 Mannheim.
