Description of the KEF R-Series Uni-Q driver[edit]

Amazingly fast and clean midrange response. Surprisingly detailed highs. All act as a single, perfectly integrated voice to deliver sweet, precise sounds with unprecedented clarity. The new Uni-Q driver is a true masterpiece. Unlike conventional speakers, the midrange cones are stiffened magnesium/aluminium constructions that reduce distortion problems. The new Z-flex midrange surround smooths the transition from tweeter to front baffle, eliminating distortion in the high frequency range. Large voice coils enhance power handling and dynamics, reduce distortion and deliver exceptional vocal clarity.
The use of vented tweeters reduces pressure behind the dome, increasing midrange bandwidth and reducing distortion effects. Even higher registers of sound are articulated with flawless precision. KEF's Tangerine Waveguide helps spread higher frequencies over an even wider angle to fill the room with a differentiated, refreshingly natural soundstage.

Designed from the ground up, the R Series represents a superior advancement that creates a new dimension of authentic sound. The geometry and stiffening of the cabinet optimize vibration characteristics and reduce secondary radiation from the cabinet walls,to ensure pristine sound. Multi-layer damping panels also help minimize cabinet resonance.
The front baffles do not have any visible screws. The grilles are magnetically attached. Available with genuine walnut and rosewood veneers or in high-gloss black, the R Series not only pays respect to music, but also makes a perfect addition to your home.
