These speakers are somewhat midrange driven. However, when used with an equalizer it is quite amazing how low such relatively small speakers can go. The foam surrounds become porous and disintegrate with age. Therefore, don't replace the drivers, but have them repaired and the surrounds repaired. The speakers are very heavy for their size and have huge crossovers. Since these small boxes go quite low, they are ideal for a supplement with a high-quality subwoofer (up to max 200Hz).
