• Denon DL-305:
• The DL-305 is an improved version of the previous top-of-the-line DL-303, achieved by reducing the weight of the needle carrier and increasing its rigidity. A thin-walled tube of amorphous boron is now used as the needle carrier. At the rear of the needle carrier is a cross-shaped armature, as in the MMC-l, but since it is an MC system, the coils are wound onto it (picture below).

In the air gap there is a strong samarium-cobalt magnet. The pickup needle is a crystal oriented rod with a cross section of 0.05 x 0.1mm and a special elliptic cut. The retail price of this MC cartridge, weighing just under 6g, should be around DM 1000.
