- Externally, the CDR-1000 resembles the Denon DCD-685 CD player. The arrangement of the buttons and the display are almost identical.
- Like all CD recorders up to 2001, the CDR-1000 requires CD-R Audio or rewritable CD-RW Audio (also called Consumer CD-R or CD-R Music) as the blank for burning a CD.
