Reports[edit]
Report at "Radiomuseum": The floorstanding LS 150 active is mentioned together with the passive version LS 150 for the first time in the catalogue Sept. 1982, additionally the amplifier insert PA1 as a blurb on the front page. Both are described as new, but the PA1 is without further technical details. In the following year (Aug. 1983, Braun Hifi. Zukunft als Konzept.) both are again described as new, but the technical data of the PA1 are given in detail for the first time. Looking at the active version in the context of the Braun amplifier spectrum from 1983 - 1986, it is noticeable that there is no separate Braun preamplifier during this period. So the LS 150 active can only be connected to Atelier-A2, where you can decouple the signal behind the VV. But there remains the investment in two power amplifiers. It wasn't until 1987 that the Atelier CC 4 appeared as an adequate partner as preamplifier (+ tuner). In Nov. 1984, the LS 150 speaker (optically) and the PA1 power insert were modified electrically (now PA1/1). The revised version is recognisable by the following features:
- omission of the previously light-coloured trim rings on the LS drivers.
HT driver has been acoustically reworked
- resistor circuit of the OV IC 501a has been changed, capacitor C 622 is omitted, C 621 + C 508 have been modified.
