Sehr robustes Cassettendeck mit guten klanglichen Eigenschaften. Wurde damals in mehreren Testberichten gelobt. Im Gegensatz zu älteren Cassettendecks von Technics bietet dieses Deck eine brilliante Höhenwiedergabe.

Die Capstanwelle und das Bandzählwerk werden über zwei Gummiriemen angetrieben. Der Gummiriemen für die Capstanwelle ist ein Flachbandriemen und hält sehr lang . Der Gummiriemen für das Bandzählwerk ist ein Vierkant- oder Rundriemen und leiert irgendwann mal aus. Beide Riemen sind bei ebay noch als Ersatzteile erhältlich, allerdings ist das Auswechseln dieser Riemen sehr aufwendig, da man dazu das komplette Laufwerk ausbauen und teilzerlegen muss.
