With its premium hi-fi brand "OPTONICA", the Sharp Corporation broke new ground from around 1975 to 1982, proving that stylish OPTICS and audio technology can be in perfect harmony. In particular, the aesthetically and technically very sophisticated devices of the 1980/1981 production period set the tone for the time with which OPTONICA was far ahead of its time.
