Reports

  • Reiner Kruse at hifi-classic-reparatur.de (April 2, 2014), see also link below:

"The stasis circuit developed by Threshold, guarantor for load stable power supply in the low impedance power range, worked in the well-known power amplifiers, and in the flat receivers!

The SR-2,3 and 4 receivers, SR-4 even remote controlled, had a good sounding phono section (the 2 unfortunately only MM) and of course an excellent tuner. Soundwise these parts tend to have a natural, rather deep and wide, than high stage. . . .
At the same time, the parts still look chic and are well adjustable, just no debris.
If you get your hands on a semi-maintained unit today, after more than 20 years, they run flawlessly. A manufacturing quality that the Europeans and Yanks were running behind!"
