  • The entry into the Luxman luxury class of the integrated amplifier family was heralded in 1981 by the 510.

Here now the somewhat larger brother L-525. Stereo integrated amplifier with Duo Beta circuit. Test in Stereoplay top class 1, very good Phono MM input, with Phono MC even reference in the SK1. At that time probably the most sold top model of the Luxman top models in Germany. Maximum power output at 8 ohms is specified with 130 watts. Pre-power amplifier can be disconnected by a switch on the rear panel. Phono Staight function by switch on the front(with visual indicator),illuminated LS control(Alps poti).

  • Wooden cabinet with rosewood veneer, front champagne brushed and high gloss. The large knobs also brushed and glossy. Other models are also champagne, but matte.
  • Later recommended by Stereoplay as particularly musical in combination with the Ecouton LQL 150.
  • The Luxman 525 is built and sounds quite different from the L 510 and L 530 models. It plays more openly and freshly with more pressure and dynamics and was also indicated by Luxman as load-stable at 2 ohms. It is more of an improved L 430 in terms of construction and can clearly stand out from the L 510/530. It is the more advanced unit with the better sound. Only the L 560 was at that time a step higher and was classified by Stereoplay in the absolute top class (together with Accuphase E 305). Whoever has a Luxman L 525 integrated amplifier in good condition should think twice about parting with it. Such a beautiful, very good sounding device with this equipment is not easy to find again.

It should be mentioned that, contrary to many statements, the Luxman is DEFINITELY NOT a CLASS A amplifier. Not with 8 watts or 15 watts or however much. It is a classic AB amplifier.
