Company profile[edit]

Wikipedia writes about JVC including: "Victor Company of Japan, Limited (JVC) is a company based in Yokohama, Japan, that develops and sells consumer electronics for home users and the entertainment industry, as well as media technology equipment for semi-professional and professional applications." A key JVC product was the VHS video recording process, but unfortunately also the early Digital Restrictions Management system Macrovision. JVC is a company with a long history, having been founded long before World War 2. It was later acquired, without abandoning the brand, by Matsushita. Currently a part of the JVC Kenwood Corporation.
