Company profile[edit]

Hans Gerhard Hennel and his family found the "Firma Hennel" in Schmitten/Taunus. At first only tube radios are manufactured.
- In the 50s
"Firma Hennel" is renamed "Heco", which stands for HEnnel and CO.
- 1965
The first Heco HIFI speakers, the B310 model are produced. They were developed by the then still young engineer Wolfgang Seikritt.
- 1972
Heco is sold together with factories in Remscheid and Schmitten and including the rights to the name to the British Rank-Radio. However, a small part of the family business, the factory in Berlin, remains in the family as it belongs to Hans G. Hennel's wife Suse Hennel.
- October 17, 1972
Three employees leave Heco and found Canton. The founding partners were Hubert Milbers (managing director), Otfried Sandig (marketing, sales), Günther Seitz (engineering) and Wolfgang Seikritt (development).
- 1975
Heco Hennel & Co KG, Berlin, owned by Suse Hennel, starts production. The company belongs to the holding H. Dahl KG, Hamburg. Also belonging to it are Dahl Elektronik KG and CEC Europa GmbH. Visonik became known for its compact David loudspeakers.
