ESS

Company profile

The ESS Heil Airmotion Transformer comes closer than almost any other system to the theoretical ideal of converting electrical energy into sound waves. A block of a magnet weighing almost 6 kg houses a wafer-thin metallized polymer ribbon folded like an accordion, which reacts to voltage changes with an almost unmeasurable delay. The second associated advantage is that the air in the folds of the ribbon is compressed and - like the famous cherry pit between thumb and forefinger - "fished out" at high speed. In this way, the air is accelerated up to five times faster than the medium itself. The result: without much effort - in other words, with high efficiency - a tremendously clear, transparent reproduction.

Loudspeaker

The AMT is used for example in the Myro Concert Series and the models ESS AMT 1 Tower and ESS Connoisseur Series AMT 450, which were also developed and produced by Myro on behalf of the German distributor.
