The company ALR was founded in 1984 as ART in Essen by Thomas Klaus and Klaus Gruber. In 1989 Karl-Heinz Fink joined the company and the name was changed to ALR. From the first day on, ALR has dedicated itself to basic acoustic research and the development of high-quality loudspeaker chassis and loudspeaker cabinets. In 1996 the company name was changed again. From then on ALR JORDAN products were distributed all over the world. Klaus Gruber later founded his own company, A.C.T., and has since been manufacturing extremely high-quality subwoofers with control technology.

Das Unternehmen ALR wurde im Jahre 1984 als ART in Essen von Thomas Klaus und Klaus Gruber gegründet, 1989 stiess Karl-Heinz Fink dazu und man firmierte auf ALR um. Vom ersten Tag an, hat sich ALR der akustischen Grundlagenforschung und der Entwicklung hochwertiger Lautsprecherchassis und Lautsprecherboxen verschrieben. 1996 wurde nochmalig umfirmiert. Fortan werden ALR JORDAN Produkte in der ganzen Welt vertrieben. Klaus Gruber gründete später seine eigene Firma A.C.T. und stellt seither äußerst hochwertige Subwoofer mit Regelungstechnik her.

In the year 2000 ALR Jordan went bankrupt. A new company was founded and named "ALR Acustics". This new company bought the old brand name "ALR Jordan" from the bankruptcy estate and has continued to produce products with this brand name ever since.

Im Jahr 2000 ging ALR Jordan dann in Konkurs. Es wurde eine neue Firma gegründet die den Namen "ALR Acustics" erhielt. Diese neue Firma kaufte den alten Markennamen "ALR Jordan" aus der Konkursmasse und produziert seitdem  weiter Produkte mit diesem Markennamen.

In January 2013 "ALR Acoustics" was liquidated and deleted from the commercial register.
