I owned this thing (when I was 13 years old) and was proud of it at the time ( everybody starts small...). It cost about DM 349,00 back in 1979 (about € 175,00 today). The boxes on ebay for € 150,00 are too much for an almost 40 year old unit with DIN jacks, especially since the unit was not a milestone in the hi-fi sector. Impressive for today's standards are only the thick aluminum front and the many controls. If you get something like that for his junior for € 50.00, that would be just okay.

Miscellaneous

The Universum System 2500 was made for Quelle by Lucky Goldstar (today LG) or bought in. It is largely identical to the Gold Star 754 / Dynamics GSA-8500 / Goldstar GSA-8500. The main difference was the configuration of the rear and front sockets. Where the source model has Din jacks on the front for microphone and headphones, the "out of town" models have jack sockets. The Dynamics/GoldStar GSA-8500 has corresponding speaker terminals and RCA jacks on the rear, whereas DIN jacks are installed on the Quelle model.
