The AV-32Rbp-192

Maybe the most versatile AV processor in the world?

The design brief for the AV32R was simple: create an all-movie-standards AV processor which has outstanding audio and video quality but is easy to set up and use. The result is a benchmark; an audio-visual processor for both the present and the future; sophisticated in its performance and simple to operate.

The AV32Rbp-192 is the 12th upgrade for the AV32R, offering a 5.1 Analog Bypass for connecting SACD and DVD-Audio players; 192kHz / 24bit DACs for improved sound quality; Dolby Pro Logic II as standard; and finally the ability to record digital sources through the analog tape output.

New features in detail:

5.1 Analog Bypass

A ‘5.1 Analog Bypass’ (also called 5.1 pass-through) allows up to six analog inputs to be directly routed to an av processor’s analog outputs without being further processed. The signals bypass the av processor, hence the name.

A 5.1 Analog Bypass is required to connect an SACD or DVD-Audio player to an AV processor, as unfortunately these two digital recordingformats have been (so far?) castrated by the decision of the content providers to not allow easy and direct access to the high resolution digital information recorded on the disc. So instead of a single, high quality digital connection, these players convert the digital information to 5.1 analog outputs: left, centre, right, surround left, surround right and subwoofer (the 0.1). These 5.1 outputs are then connected to an av processors ‘5.1 Analog Bypass’ in order to be able to route them - unprocessed - to its power

Whilst the AV32Rbp-192 cannot correct the fundamental shortfall of SACD/DVD-technology, AV32R owners can now add advanced ‘5.1 Bypass’ technology to their AV32R without being penalised and, as if that's not be enough, our engineers added the ability to alternatively use the 5.1 Bypass to provide three additional Stereo inputs, passing through the AV32R without ever being digitised.

The AV32Rbp-192 gets 192kHz / 24bit DACs

Much has already been written about the enhanced qualities of the new 192kHz / 24bit AK4395 DAC which we recently introduced into the DPA32R and Aphrodite. Those qualities are just as apparent in the AV32R, allowing our Golden Ears to state that the AV32Rbp-192 is not only our latest but also most refined av processor ever.

Dolby Pro Logic II as Standard

There have been many different sound formats over the years which claimed to enhance two-channel stereo through the use of 5.1 or 7.1 loudspeakers. Many took more away than they added, particularly in the enjoyment of music. Well, Dolby Pro Logic II is one of the rare exceptions, establishing itself clearly as the market leader in this field.

Well, reflecting this, we made the decision to ship the AV32Rbp-192 with Dolby Pro Logic II as standard.

Improved Tape Recording

So far, the AV32R limited tape recording to analog recording of analog sources and digital recording of digital sources.

With the AV32Rbp-192 you can now always record the left and right channel output via the tape output independent of the source type. Sometimes even the small things count!

The new AV32Rbp-192 is another clear step forward, demonstrating that the AV32R is really the choice for those who want to stay ahead of the game.
