The Canton CT 80 is definitely a closed and not a basseflex design.

According to the Canton brochure, it is definitely a bass reflex speaker. See scan:

The tests in Stereoplay and HifiVision at the time also prove this.

This is very interesting! I own a pair myself, and to me these speakers sound like a sealed design (very dry bass). I can't find a bass reflex port even with the best will in the world!

As I recall, the bass reflex port is on the front and is also covered with this velvet-like coating, so you can barely see it.

Of course, it could also be that the CT 80 is available both as a bass reflex and closed.

This was the case with the Karat 20, 30, 40 and 60. The first two years these speakers were built as closed version, afterwards as bass reflex version.
