Talk:Yamaha B-2x
The power consumption specification is not correct. At least not at 240 volts. The 306 watts per channel output power specified according to DIN cannot arise from 470 watts input power. The B-2x would then be a super perpetuum mobile. Isr however a Class-A amplifier, which runs constantly "full throttle" and converts substantially more energy into heat than into "music". The max. power consumption for the European version (220-230 volts) is 1300 watts according to the manufacturer.
Most manufacturers, including Yamaha, usually do not specify the maximum power consumption, but a "nominal power consumption". This is also stated in the FAQ on the German Yamaha homepage.
Since the maximum power consumption is rarely in the data, you have to take what you have in data, so here the "nominal power consumption".
