Talk:Harman/kardon HK 6500

Hello, I proudly bought a Harman/Kardon HK6500 in the 90s. Because I was broke after 2 years, I sold it to my brother. He stored it in the damp basement for the last 2 years and I got it back now. Somehow it didn't want to play like that, you could hear scratching when turning knobs and pushing buttons. It also plays one way, one speaker more, the other almost not at all, even when I swapped the cables. After I sprayed it with contact spray and contact cleaner in every hole, it played like new, unfortunately only for a short time. Can I bypass these knobs or buttons? I don't really need them, e.g.: Loudnes, Belance, etc. With kind regards Gionny
