For wiki beginners: Simple insertion of a new device

Here you have the option to insert or supplement a device if it already exists. Please pay attention to uppercase/lowercase when entering! Use the preview function. And don't worry, nothing can go wrong.

Device name:

For wiki experts: A quick guide to inserting a new device

Using a short example, this section shows how to create a new entry in the Gerätedatenbank. Let's assume we want to add a new CD player...

1. Open the CD-Player page.
2. Select the appropriate manufacturer if it’s already listed there, otherwise create a new link (via the “edit” button in the top menu):

   * [[Sony CD-Player]]

Note: In this case, you should later check on the manufacturer's page (i.e. Sony) whether the corresponding link to the CD players in the products also needs to be added:

* [[Sony CD-Player]]

1. Select the manufacturer link and add a reference to the (not yet created) device in the list:

   * [[Sony CDP-123]]

2. Save the page and click the new link (which should appear in red). The page for creating a new article will then open.
3. For now, just enter the following:

   {{subst:CD-Player}}

4. Save the page. This will automatically insert the template for CD players (the names of the templates for other devices can be found on the Templates page). Using the template ensures a uniform appearance for articles on different devices.
5. Edit the article again, enter the data, and then save. It is advisable to use the preview function to check that the page is displayed correctly.
