Reviews[edit]

  • The Pioneer CT-S 740 S also shared the owner's manual with the CT-S 540 S and CT-S 640 S in the 1st year of manufacture.
  • It shares the drive, technical values (except dimensions) and features with the Pioneer CT-S 830 S, which was launched 1 year earlier and sold for 2 more years in parallel.

  • Stereo 11/1995: Excellent, 3 stars. "Z- mechanism and Dolby S at a fighting price - perhaps the last alternative to the minidisk."
  • Stereoplay 10/1995: Top Class II, Reference. "Sensibly equipped Dolby S- recorder with excellent sound and very good drive." (S.69)
