High End 2009; Image: Christian Herzog,License:2.0 Generic (CC BY 2.0)] Loudspeaker manufacturer, emerged in 1977 from BBC developments; founder was engineer Dudley Harwood, who co-developed at the BBC.  Today's boss is engineer Alan Shaw, who worked at Harbeth back in the late 1980s. His first loudspeaker was the C7 in 1995, where Harbeth introduced its own polypropylene-based plastic cone material ("Radial") was presented. Shaw had received a research grant from the British government for its development, and it could be patented.
