Reviews[edit]

  • The AL-80 was in its time a tape deck of the budding top class in terms of sound and features, but was later in the eighties overtaken in quality by many decks of the upper middle class.
  • Outstanding feature of the unit remains the use of rotating mirror galvanometers as display instruments.
  • Much easier on the eye than the later standard FL displays. These are probably also the reason for the moon prices usually called in the bay. Qualitatively, Alpine has built much better before and after the AL-80.
