Reports

  • Report at "Hifi-Museum":
  • LOEWE OPTA CD9000
  • The CD 9000 presents itself as a flat device into which the compact disc must be inserted from above. A light pressure on the lid lets it open slowly. Accidental fingerprints are unlikely to occur during loading and unloading, but a little attention should be paid to the protruding centering pin to avoid scratching the playing surface of the CD.
  • The CD 9000 must be on top
  • Due to its construction it is not possible to place the CD 9000 in a tower. It must always stand on top. At the same time, the half-window flap allows a view of the disc in action. Once the loading process is complete, as many LEDs of the upper chain light up automatically as there are tracks on the CD (maximum 15). The same number of tracks can be stored in the memory of the programming unit.

Programming is very simple on the CD 9000, pressing the "Select" button causes the LEDs in the second row to light up one after the other; these LEDs symbolise the track in question. The "Store" button is now used to store. The omitting programming ("Cancel") makes it possible to simply delete music tracks that you do not want to listen to within a program.

  • The player still has the skip function, which can be used to jump to the next track. The time display informs about the elapsed time during playback and can be switched from title to total time.
  • Very good transmission characteristics
  • The technology of the Loewe-Opta Player is so good in all points that one does not need to lose many words about it. The square wave and impulse behaviour reveal the "oversampling", i.e. the use of digital filters for the high-frequency interference components. The system is thus fully exploited. The low running noise is also pleasing, and the only minus point is the missing headphone output.

The CD 9000 received full marks for immunity to interference in all categories. This is extremely important for everyday use and is rated highly. Overall, a strong buy recommendation can be made for this device. With average ease of use, the owner gets a technology that fully exploits the features of the digital system and is also very practical. The very good price-value ratio speaks for itself. rp
