Technical change
Because it happened with some devices that the tape was damaged, a change in the winding motor control was recommended!
Change:
Ten diode D504 MTZJ5R6CTA is changed to MTZJ5R1BTA!

Errors encountered:

  • No sound, no recording: C619, C620, C621, C622 & C624 -> renew 1000uF-10V.
  • Permanent magnet on capstan comes loose, especially after transport. Leads to fast grinding noises! All DD Drive AR350
  • Gear wheel of the winding disk drive can break/ crack! Item no. 130/ ET. No. RDG0034 -> No longer available!
  • Trembling in the sound:
    Lubricant of the winding plate axles flocculates! Re-lubricate with graphite grease
  • Tone leaks:Spring of pressure roller gives way. Item no. 120-1/ ET. No. RUW140ZC -> no longer available!

Remarks[edit]

  • Direct Drive: The drive is without belt. A permanent magnet is attached to the capstan flywheel, which is driven by an electromagnetic field. Nevertheless there is a belt - for the motorized cassette compartment. It is available in stores.
