Reports

  • Audio magazine 9/2007
    • Audio rating: "outstanding" (96 points), high-end class.
"However, the Geithain (...) had to pay tribute to its limiter during the spontaneous metal concert and didn't quite reach the extreme levels of the (...). Before reaching that limit, however, it stood out positively due to greater transparency."
"... - its low bass possessed an almost frightening assertiveness in both cases..."
"So spatially natural, so far-reaching and yet accurate in distance hardly any speaker had ever played in the AUDIO listening room before."
  • Listening Experience, Issue 63 (2008)

Without any ifs and buts Joachim Kiesler succeeded in creating a passive loudspeaker that is exceptionally comfortable in the living room and that matches the outstanding sound quality of the active monitors. A loudspeaker without airs and graces that does what it was designed for, namely to pass on music as it is delivered. Uncritical in set-up and compatible with tube and transistor (whose respective capabilities are made clear without question mark), it is suitable for any kind of musical performance. A very thick recommendation!"

  • fairaudio issue 8/2010
"This three-way driver has a good portion of pick-up factor. It is powerful and colourful - as well as dynamic: whether it's a banging toms, hard synthesizer beats, guitar strings plucked at lightning speed or other snappy impulses - the Geithain ME 150 knows how to transport all this impressively towards the listener."
"I've rarely had a loudspeaker as a guest - certainly not in this price range - that is so convincing across such a wide range of criteria, which are standard to knock off in our listening reviews. But nobody is perfect - and loudspeakers even less so: the room acoustics and the rest of the chain will certainly have a decisive say in the last bit of airiness that the ME 150 may deprive you of - depending on your demands and listening habits."
