World's First THX Select Certified Network Receiver: TX-NR900E Integra

Now it's official: Onkyo is introducing its new exclusive network technology - Net-Tune™ to the public. With its first network receiver, the TX-NR900E, Onkyo also offers a device that meets all THX® Select specifications for superior sound quality.

An Ethernet connection allows the TX-NR900E to be connected to a PC or LAN interface. And with the help of Net-Tune™ Central software, users can create audio databases (MP3, WMA or WAV format) including playlists. These databases can also be accessed via the receiver's remote control, and navigation is easy via a logically laid out OSD menu. If you have access to a broadband Internet connection, the TX-NR900E also provides direct access to an almost limitless number of Internet radio stations. If required, a selection of these radio stations can also be stored on one of the 30 station presets. Net-Tune™ Central is a Windows® based software that works efficiently in the background, allowing the user to work with other applications at the same time. The TX-NR900E also includes Onkyo's exclusive Theater-Dimensional™ feature, VLSC™ (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry), and DTS® 96/24, as well as a five-step adjustable crossover frequency from 40 to 120 Hz.

- Net-Tune™. With Net-Tune™, it's now possible to make the entire contents of music databases accessible to multiple users over an in-house network. Up to 12 TX-NR900E receivers in separate rooms can simultaneously access tracks stored on the same hard drive. CDs and external audio sources can be recorded or "ripped" to the hard drive in an MP3, WMA (compressed) or PCM (uncompressed) format. The power of Net-Tune™ Central doesn't stop there; it's additionally possible to create user-specific playlists, which can be easily accessed using the TX-NR900E's remote control. If you're interested in time-sensitive reception of worldwide broadcasts via the Internet, Net-Tune™ opens up a wide range of choices. Connect your TX-NR900E to a router connected to a broadband modem via high-speed Ethernet cable, and you'll have unprecedented access to radio stations around the world through Onkyo's exclusive Net-Tune™ protocol. With a capacity of 30 station presets, you'll also have instant access to your favorite stations.

- Dual 32-bit DSP chips These powerful and accurate Dual 32-bit DSP chips combined with the high-precision 192 kHz/24-bit audio D/A converters implemented in the TXNR900E can process digital signals with such precision to ensure reliable reproductions of digital sources with the variety of multi-channel capabilities into pure analog audio perfection.

- VLSC™ (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry). Conventional D/A conversion methods reduce digital noise in the converter stage, but cannot completely eliminate it. VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) uses a unique D/A conversion stage to reduce the linearization errors of the digital signal to an absolute minimum. The distortion caused by the intervals between sampling points is compensated by analogue real time vectors. These vector connections smooth the output signal into a smooth, wavelike waveform. The result is a nearly error-free, faithful and smooth reproduction of the analog signal.

- Theater-Dimensional™ Exclusive Theater-Dimensional™ circuit technology simplifies the complexity of traditional multi-channel setups, letting you experience true surround sound even with just two speakers. The unique multi-speaker mode allows you to place up to five speakers, even if they can't be ideally arranged.
